Within our music learning since returning from the Summer holidays, children in 5/6T have been working hard to develop their skills when playing a new instrument, the djembe drum. Mr Kinmans has taught us different methods of striking to drum to create different pitched sounds, as well as how to correctly hold the drum to allow the sound to flow from the instrument. The children showed an excellent effort, listening carefully and following Mr Kinmans’ instructions.
