The children began their Forest School adventure by sitting quietly and using their senses to explore their surroundings. They thought carefully about three things they could see, two things they could hear and one thing they could touch.
Next, they explored the Forest School area and discovered an object that could act as a time-travelling device! Using their imaginations, the children travelled back to Victorian times and explored their surroundings in role as though they were walking through the streets of Victorian London.
They thought about what they might see, hear and touch in the busy city, using their senses and imaginations to bring the past to life. Finally, the children shared the descriptive vocabulary they had generated, helping them to build a rich bank of language to support their learning and writing.
