This term in our early years we are introducing the children to makaton and each week will have a word/sign linked to our book of the week.

This week’s makaton sign was firemen. 

We read our book of the week ‘Spot Goes to the Fire Station’ and had a go practicing the sign. We then watched the ‘5 little firemen’ rhyme by The Singing Hands and copied the signs from the song. The children really enjoyed this and have responded really well to learning makaton.
