Today, class 6B had the honour of taking part in the National Literacy Trusts online event; reflecting on Holocaust Memorial Day that takes place on Saturday 27th January across the world. We engaged in the harrowing and difficult messages from the past through Mala Tribich’s personal experience of survival and the author Tom Palmer who has closely worked with Mala to make sure his book is based on facts. Both children and adults in class were moved by Mala and her message to all that we should continue to spread the stories of the past so the world never forgets. Children then wrote reflection on the question ‘Why do you think it is important for stories like Mala’s to be told?
