To wrap up our topic of the Stone Age, 3/4P and 3T had a day of den building this week! The children have worked really hard over the Autumn term to research, evaluate and design their own dens, basing them on a Stone Age hut. The children fully immersed themselves in the process, gathering a range of materials to mimic what would have been used in the Stone Age. They used ropes and sticks to ensure their huts were secure, as well as using tarpaulins as insulation and to ensure they were protected from water and wind, just like animal skin was used for in the Stone Age period. Children were extremely resilient and worked very well in their tribes (teams)!
