This week as part of science week we have been looking at and exploring the life cycle of a frog.

We first visited the pond to check what the wildlife looked like and we observed frogspawn and lots of frogs.

We shared a video on the life cycle of a frog and learnt that the cycle starts with frogspawn into tadpoles then into a froglet and finally a frog.

We learnt and explored some vocabulary including herbivore and carnivore.

As part of science week the children  then engaged in a number of activities in class including drawing and labelling the frog life cycle. A hands on activity with different textures to represent the life cycle alongside phoneme alls to sound out and match the word ‘Frog’ .

In support of science week we have created a little frog investigation area to extend learning and vocabulary.
