Scientists in 1/2B!

1/2B are super scientists! For British Science Week 2026, 1/2B investigated the big question – “What material would make the best coat for a dragon?”. We considered comfort, practicality and water resistance. We can’t risk the dragon’s fire going out! We tested many different materials. We had thin flimsy plastic, thick solid wood, paper towels, card, paper, felt, pond liner, blue cloth, sandpaper and metal. We had so much fun testing these materials. The children were super engaged, asking lots of important questions and using scientific language. 1/2B concluded that fabric would make the dragon comfortable, and plastic would be the best material to mold over the fabric to keep the dragon dry.
