In Reception we had a wonderful class discussion around neurodiversity and what it means that we are all different and unique.

We shared the Umberella of me story and then discussed with our partners what we noticed was similar  and what we noticed was different about each other.

We shared how some children  may need a wobble cushion to help them sit and focus , some may need headphones to cancel out background noises and some children like chew toys.

After having a thoughtful and reflective conversation the children had a go at creating their own umbrellas with words and pictures.
