1B – Egg Science

1B did a Science experiment, trying to dye eggs for Easter. As we always say in 1B- Science doesn’t always work but we always learn from it and it helps to build our resilience and enquiring & exploring skills.  We had good fun trying to dye the eggs in shaving foam and food dye. Look out for experiment number 2! Science Rocks!

Fun Fact! Did you know that eggs are coated with a protective membrane when they are laid?

This prevents the egg becoming infected. However, the protective layer gets washed off  through processing and when we boil the eggs. This allows the shell to become more permeable to things such as food colouring.
