Cubist Portraits Inspired by Sandra Silberzweig

Cubist Portraits Inspired by Sandra Silberzweig

In art, the children explored the work of contemporary artist Sandra Silberzweig, whose colourful portraits are influenced by the Cubist movement made famous by Pablo Picasso. Pupils studied examples of her artwork, discussing the use of bold colour, unusual shapes and distorted facial features. They experimented with colour mixing, tones and textures in their sketchbooks before planning their own Cubist-style portraits. The final pieces were created collaboratively in groups, encouraging discussion, shared ideas and teamwork as pupils worked together to produce vibrant portraits inspired by Silberzweig’s style.
